Interview Yannick Maden (english)

Our team had a chance to speak with Yannick Maden (30yo), 149th player at the ATP ranking. Here is his interview.

"How did you discover tennis ?  My parents enjoyed playing tennis for fun and took me and my brother to the courts with when we were younger. I liked playing a lot and played hours by myself against the garage.

What do you do to stay in good shape during this period ? I'm mostly trying to enjoy the different aspects of life at home when not traveling. I didn’t do too much, rather relaxed and rehabbed small injuries from before.

What results are you most proud of ?  It was to qualify for Wimbledon and the Us Open in 2018 and of course Second round Roland garros 2019. Enter into top 100 was also a big goal of mine.

Which player impressed you the most in the match ? Why ? It was Rafa Nadal in Paris. I’ve watched him so many times on Tv but his game and attitude live is impressive .

What’s your favourite tournaments ? It's BMW Open Munich, Roland Garros and Us Open 

You had the "chance" to play Rafa at Roland-Garros ? What did you feel ?

It felt like a big challenge and a bonus at the same time because I played a great tournament before and made top 100 with the win in the first round. 

What is your main goal until the end of your carreer ? I want to become top 100 again, eventually top 50 and make the second week in a Grand Slam. That would be phenomenal. Also I would love to play in all the atp events in my home country."
